My Story - Be the master of your destination.

My name is Alex, I am nearly 40 years young and I am the owner and founder of Dreadlex. My passion for unique and funky hair began when I was very young, I have always been fascinated by hair jewellery, beads, feathers, and other accessories that I decorated any hair I could find. In 2006 I had my first boxbraids done by a braiding chick on an island in Spain – that’s where my own career started too. I was fascinated by the beauty of the hairstyle and I never looked back. Shortly after this, I started studying hair braiding and dreadlocking and testing these skills on friends and volunteers. Even after 17 years of dreadlocking experience I could not get enough – I just wanted to learn more and more! Unfortunately, there was a limited market in our town for these kinds of hairstyles, so I became a disability carer, and later transitioned to the automotive industry to pay the bills while chasing my hair-dreams on the side. 

I came to Australia 2015 and everything changed, I have set myself a goal, I wanted to do what I love to do “ Hair “ any Kind of hair needs, a specialist on Dreadlockneeds, To be, even more, Professional, I started a New Journey and an Apprenticeship with At the age of 36, I started my Barbering Apprenticeship, but this wasn’t still enough I have completed also my cert III in Hairdressing, down the Track, I have worked alongside famous stylists and artists on Fashion shows Photoshoots Runway Royal Easter shows and and and. Full-on everything about Hair. In December 2021 My Partner Mario our two Dogs Ollie and Emma (who are my Kids) and I moved to the most beautiful Place Port Macquarie
I started to look for Jobs. Shortly after I realized that I won't be happy enough if
I can't be creative as I want to, I have made the Decision to Open My first own
little Shop . in the Heart of this Beautiful Town, next to amazing Talents to
work together as Team. And this is it, I never gave up and always stuck to my Dreams and Goals, Never stop learning, and can’t wait to grow my knowledge
